I can do it in Inventor, in FreeCad and other programs, but when it comes to printing it functinally the SLT is not enough, you need knowledge of materials and of how to do the right settings in your slicer, and not any slicer can do the job. The problem appears when printing it on your desktop machine, an M10 or smaller needs a 0.2 nozzle or smaller, that reduces drastically the choice of printabel materials, nylons (PET, PETG and similar) no ABS, no PLA (would not resist in practice at use), or higher temp materials like PEi or PEKK.Īn M20 is allright for a 0.3 or even a 0.4 nozzle if you can fit the right retractions, temperatures, speeds, jerk and pattern, thaty can be done in PLA and even in ABS. The issue is not how to create a threaded nut or bolt, you don't even have to create the thread yourself, just creat the cilynder and apply thread on it and Inventor does the rest, pick up the size, step and depth from the standardised libray, job done.
